About

Chelsey Browne is a Canadian photographer and curator who divides her time between London, England and Folkestone on England’s South Coast.

She is an established portrait photographer, travelling the world for private clients including celebrities, Presidents and Royal Families. Many of her clients are highly confidential and her more public work comes mostly through commissions that range from portraits to capturing contemporary music, performance art and dance.

She first studied Classical Studies at Langara College in Vancouver, where she took part in a History of Art travel programme to Europe in 1998. After a period of time travelling, she decided to settle in England. She studied at Central St Martins College of Art & Design in London, graduating with a BA Hons in Fine Art in 2009 and obtained an NVQ Level 2 in  Museums, Galleries and Cultural Heritage. She went on to curate over 20 exhibitions at the Notting Hill Arts Club as well as other independent shows and exhibited her work in a number of group exhibitions. From 2008 to 2016 worked at the Eagle Gallery in London.

Chelsey was Project Manager for Venice Agendas (2016-2019), a talks and events programme that runs during the preview week of the Venice Biennale, and she was part of the team in various roles for Strangelove Time-Based Media Festival (2017-2020.)

She is the founder of Arts Council England funded projects Platform Art Projects and Print Editions Gallery and is currently working as a freelance photographer, curator and artist.
